Full-Day Amboseli Safari from Nairobi

Starting from or returning to your Nairobi hotel, private residence, or the airport, we’ll pick you up before dawn for a full-day safari in the comfort of Poundvester Safaris standard 4×4 safari Landcruiser.

We depart early (around 4:30 AM) for Amboseli National Park, renowned as the best place in Africa to see free-ranging elephants. The park is home to dense herds of these majestic giants, often traveling in family groups to familiar watering holes.

Spectacular Views of Mt. Kilimanjaro

Amboseli also offers unmatched views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Along with elephants, you’ll have the chance to see lions, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest. It’s no wonder Amboseli is Kenya’s second most popular park, after the Masai Mara.

Poundvester Safaris will guide you on three game drives across open Savannah, acacia woodlands, bush country, and marshlands, maximizing your wildlife encounters.

First Game Drive

Our journey begins along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway, crossing the scenic African Savannah. Watch a luminous sunrise illuminate homesteads and Maasai herdsmen tending their cattle as we head toward Amboseli.

After 3–4 hours, we arrive at the park and start our first game drive. With Mt. Kilimanjaro as your backdrop, you’ll see herds of protected elephants, many with impressive ivory tusks.

We’ll pause at Ol Tukai Lodge for a sumptuous breakfast before continuing our adventure.

Second Game Drive

Mid-morning, we set out again for more wildlife spotting. During the dry season, sparse vegetation makes animal sightings even easier. Amboseli also boasts rich birdlife, including pelicans, kingfishers, and raptors near the swamps and marshes.

For a panoramic view, we’ll head to Observation Hill, where you can walk around and enjoy stunning vistas of the park. From here, elephants gather daily in the swamps, providing a perfect wildlife photo opportunity.

Optionally, you can visit the indigenous Maasai people living within the park to learn about their unique culture and lifestyle.

Lunch and Third Game Drive

Lunch is served at the elegant Amboseli Serena Lodge, followed by a shorter afternoon game drive. Late-day sightings often include elephants returning from the marshes and dramatic views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak, which sometimes emerges from its cloud cover.

After a full day of wildlife and unforgettable scenery, we return to Nairobi, arriving in the evening.
